Brant:
Became a tech billionaire by his twentieth birthday. Has been in a relationship with me for 3 years.
Has proposed 4 times. Been rejected 4 times.

Lee:
Cuts grass when he’s not banging housewives. Good with his hands, his mouth, and his cock. Has been pursued relentlessly by me for almost 2 years, whether he knows it or not.

Go ahead. Judge me. You have no idea what my love entails.

If you think you’ve heard this story before, trust me – you haven’t.

During a fundraiser for the organisation she works for, Layana Fairmont meets Brant Sharp, a tall, dark and handsome tech-billionaire who also happens to be charity’s most eager donator. The two of them hit it off immediately and engage into a serious relationship.

Layana wants nothing more than to become his wife, but the night before Brant proposes, she discovers his well-kept secret, leading her to turn down his proposal, and the next ones to come.
Overwhelmed by the secret he is hiding, Lana seeks the company of another man, Lee, who is the total opposite of Brant: rough, unruly and low-class. Yet she is unable to make a choice between the two of them, as she loves both men… But does this give you the right to judge her? Wait until you hear the whole story…

Wow, Alessandra Torre did it again! Another thrilling release that keeps you on your toes from front to back!

You know that feeling when you are reading a book trying to make some sense of it and in the end, when everything is uncovered, you realize that the clues where there and thrown in constantly and you didn’t see any of them? Really, Black Lies is worthy of one of the best crime novels you’ve ever read but on a whole different level.

To all of you who did not pick this book up because of the mention of a love-triangle? Well I was going to let this book go just because of that, but I am so glad I didn’t because this is something so completely different. Go ahead and try it, start reading Black Lies and thinking about how despicable Layana is because she runs off to another man when Brant is everything a girl would want in a man – but as the teaser says – do not judge her as she has her reasons, and they are very good ones. Mindblowing ones to say the least.

And very soon, your vision of Layana will change into one of a woman who fights for what she wants, a woman who is truly loyal. Now how is this possible when she is cheating on her boyfriend of 2 years and has been doing this for years? Well, only reading Black Lies will tell you, and I am not going to be the one to spoil it for you!

The writing is just as perfect as expected coming from Alessandra Torre and while it is mainly written from Lana’s POV, we do get a few glimpses into Brant’s mind. The research – as always – makes this book an extremely “real” one, which is guaranteed to take you on a rollercoaster. Alessandra Torre made it to my all-time favourite books list again, and it’s no wonder!
