Everything was fine until that innocent little rich girl walked into my garage. Since the second I laid my eyes on her, all I've wanted to do is get my dirty hands on her pure body.

There's one minor obstacle standing in my way, but I've got a plan. All I've got to do is claim her, and she’ll be mine forever.

What I loved about this book:

  • The steamy scenes
  • It was a quick and fast good-time read

What I felt needed improvement:

  • The pace (too fast)
  • The main characters ridiculous desire to um… breed – literally

I found Mechanic in my Kindle Unlimited suggestions and thought why the heck not? I have to admit I was quite attracted by the no-nonsense synopsis, and a quick hot read was just what I was in the mood for (along with a bearded alpha-male mechanic). And this is what the synopsis said: This book is over-the-top, insta-love. There’s nothing but steamy scenes, babies trying to be made, and an obsessed bearded alpha hero claiming a virgin who will be his forever. If you want it hot and dirty, this is it!

And yup, this is just what this book was about. Thank god it wasn’t just a story about the main characters relationship, but also had a plot with a little more depth. But it was almost ridiculous how insta-love it was. On both accounts (male and female). And how cliché’d the book was, because of course, Penelope was as innocent as they come. At the age of 22. She’s also completely dependent and under her father’s thumb, even if she likes to think differently. And well, Paine hadn’t been with a woman in ages. As many alpha-men do.

“I don’t want to fight it. Why should I? I’m a twenty-two year old virgin whose body is screaming for some physical attention.”

And please don’t get me started on the alpha syndrome in this book. Not even an hour with Penelope and Paine claims her as his woman. And well, Paine was painfully possessive to the point of… well… wanting to “breed” Penelope (ya know, plant the seed and all). I am sorry but I had a really hard time getting used to this word being used in every other steamy scene.

“That’s right, baby. I plan on cumming in you until you are bred. You’re not keeping me from that, are you?”

Yes, this quote and Penelope’s subsequent moan of agreement really had me eye-rolling like crazy. And pace-wise, both the relationship and the intrigue were sealed within weeks, so completely unrealistic.

But hey, if you can close an eye on all of the above, you’ll get to enjoy some really steamy scenes and have a really good time(because this book is smut on a stick – definitely not for the faint hearted) . There’s even a little bonus at the end, where we get Penelope’s brother’s story, but all in all it’s pretty much the same: a lot of sex, a lot of alpha and a happy ending.
